Criminal History Background Checks

Criminal History / Background Checks may be required for a variety of reasons such as employment, adoptions, and child/elder care providers. In order to request a Background Check / Criminal History, you must complete the Background Check Consent Form.

The Fort Oglethorpe Police Department provides Criminal History / Background Checks Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays.

The Fort Oglethorpe Police Department does not offer fingerprint-based background checks.

Requirements

    1. The person obtaining the background check for employment must apply in person.
    2. The Criminal History Consent Form must be completed by applicant.
    3. The applicant must have and be willing to present a valid picture I.D.
    4. The applicant’s signature on the form must be witnessed by an on-site Police Department notary prior to the consent form being notarized.
