Uniform Patrol Division
The Uniform Patrol Division is led by a captain and four lieutenants who share the leadership responsibilities for completing our operational mission with four sergeants. The Uniform Patrol Division has the most contact with our community: of the 33 sworn members in the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department, 25 are in this division.
The Uniform Patrol Division includes three specialized units that address a wide variety of policing problems, such as the Crash Investigations & Traffic Enforcement (CITE) Team, Bike Patrol, and Codes Enforcement.
The backbone of the Uniform Patrol Division is the uniformed police officer who is responsible for providing the round-the-clock “first responder” capability of the Police Department. The officers of the Uniform Patrol Division respond to all types of calls, from parking complaints to homicides.
When not answering calls for service, officers are responsible for self-initiated activity in enforcing our laws or preventing crime through their interaction with the public.
